GRRRRR

This morning we took the Boo for an extended walk through the farmer's market at Clark park. Miss Boo was being very well behaved. Until she saw this other dog.

The other dog was staring at her, hackles raised, and then he growl-barked and lunged at her. He was way way too close. The owner was not paying attention, as she was busy procuring some organic Amish honey or some such.

So, Miss Boo growled back with her lip curled and ears pressed back. We walked by.

Some people commented about how we needed to get our dog under control.

Then we walked 10 feet to say hi to our dog park friend Dandy the corgi, and Boo was all happy and waggy and sniffy.

Why are people so stupid? Seriously. Why would you bring your dog to a very busy place with other dogs if he's not good with other dogs? And then blame other owners for the behavior that your dog instigates?

I can't believe how people always blame good dogs for their own bad dog's behavior. I love your blog, and I have been accepted to PCOM myself. I am considering moving to Philadelphia but I've also got accepted to other places. I heard PCOM is such a good school though. I might choose the allopathic route though.

Anyway, thanks for sharing I also have a blog called Get into Medical School.

Have you been to the Italian market? You probably have since you live in Philly. It's amazing.. you can get absolutely fresh mozzarella and prosciutto ham. I spent the whole day there with a friend and we ate a gigantic piece of cheese and multiple prosciutto slices on the sidewalk. Possibly the best lunch this year.

greetings,
Naomi

Why? You said it yourself: 'the owner wasn't paying attention'; she didn't even notice or recognize the aggression from her own dog, just the reaction from yours. Some people just live in a bubble, as if nothing they do is their fault, and has no consequences. It is frustrating when you are doing your best to be responsible, but others aren't.

She should know this already because it's unlikely that this is the first time this dog has acted that way.

But yes, I do see your point.

Yeah, people are stupid. I was wondering the same thing as everyone else--why YOUR dog got comments for just reacting to another dog. People are so unaware sometimes.

People are dumb.

They do the same thing with kids. I got griped at by a parent once when my daughter stood up to her son, a bully and a terror, and made him cry. My daughter simply wouldn't allow him to take the toys she was playing with and had been playing with.

It was so hypocritically ridiculous I literally laughed out loud.

Oh man, that's so annoying. I have a problem when people leave their male dogs intact, then let them hump my CGC certified spayed lab. When she finally reacts by barking and snapping at the other dog, the owners act like my dog is aggressive - take some responsibility, people!

Unfortunately, with a pit bull you are ALWAYS going to get the blame, even though your dog may be 100% not at fault.

Blame the media, blame the backyard breeders who have ruined a wonderful breed, and the "thug culture" that values dog fighting. Hell, I'd take a pit bull over a chihuahua any day, but not only does my city have ridiculous BSL for anything that the ACO deems "looks like a pit bull" (even if you can PROVE your dog is actually a boxer mix, it is solely up to the ACO's decision), but my landlord's insurance will not cover pit bulls.

Cannot WAIT to move away and buy a house.
