I know it's been over for several years, but Luca and I are one episode shy of finishing Six Feet Under, and I just want to say one thing.
*****If you don't want the series to be spoiled, please stop reading now******
I AM SO GLAD THEY FINALLY KILLED OFF NATE. What a selfish motherfucker. Everyone else on the show had their flaws, but everyone else grew over the course of the show. He, by contrast, was completely and totally irredeemable.
And that is all I have to say about that!
4 Pearls of Wisdom:
The last episode...it left me and my ex-fiance speechless...we were sort of depressed for a while after watching it. No show had/has ever affected us like Six Feet Under did. Hope you enjoy the ending!
I'm not the kind of guy who cries often, but the last episode of Six Feet Under made me cry. It was the best closure I've ever had from a TV show, and totally in line with the show's theme/culture. I hope you loved the series. I actually just bought it and will soon start watching it with my boyfriend from the beginning, since he's never seen it. It is probably the only show that has changed the way I look at the world.
J+L -- Luca and I have really enjoyed the show. Actually, I've enjoyed it, and he has put up with me making him watch it. He says it depresses him.
J -- I felt that way also after finishing My So Called Life and The Wire.
L -- I can totally see what you're saying. For instance, I felt the show change my outlook on something a few episodes back. Maybe I'll write a post about it.
I've never let myself watch the final episode (I knew about Nate dying). I just couldn't bring myself to acknowledge that the show ended.
I absolutely adored the series.
And had my only brush with fame when Matthew St. Patrick said "hi" to me while we were both waiting for our luggage in the Vancouver airport.
I just about fell over and then told him 6FU was my favorite television series of all time (true). He was very polite and gracious about the whole thing and said thanks, etc.
(And, he is a MEGA babe in real life...the guy is actually MASSIVELY tall and in ridiculously good shape.)
