How many push-ups did you do tonight?

One of my readers recommended this site to train yourself to do 100 pushups.

I skipped the test phase since I already kind of knew where I was. The less than 5 workout was a little too easy, but the 5-10 workout was a little too much, so I split the difference:

Set 1 -- 3
Set 2 -- 4
Set 3 -- 4
Set 4 -- 3
Set 5 -- 5 (maxed out)

My main issue is not cheating. It's so hard to get my upper arms parallel to the ground. Tonight I did them in front of my mirror to make sure I didn't cheat.

And really, it wasn't bad at all. Not nearly as horrible as I thought it would be. It will be interesting to see how far I get with this and if I'm able to stick to it.

So, how many push-ups did YOU do tonight??

30 ;)

They're a great upper body exercise and it's one of those moves that the more you do, the easier it gets to do more of them.

And you definitely get toned, rather than ending up looking like The Situation or Pauly D. Thankfully.

I'm definitely of this. I have to travel a lot for work and I hate gyms and things like that. Now I feel really guilty for being so sedentary. Thanks a lot.

Interestingly enough, I just started this routine myself Monday. So far, I've just had horrible upper body pain for 5 whole days straight. :)
